The COVID-19 lessons were developed to address the need to understand the Coronavirus Pandemic. Each lesson has basic vocabulary, an activity, and a pre- and post-assessment.

Additional COVID-19 materials that are updated regularly can be found by clicking here for the iSOSY COVID-19 Padlet link.

As the COVID-19 situation progresses rapidly, and guidelines continue to be revised, please stay up to date by checking the most recent CDC guidelines at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html.

These COVID-19 lessons are meant as a simple and general springboard for discussion of how to stay safe and healthy during the pandemic. The first lesson includes information on symptoms, spread, and protecting yourself and others. The second lesson includes information on vaccines, booster, and staying safe at work. As you go through the lessons with your students, please make sure to include information specific to your region and to include any recent updates. Some questions to address in this regard include:

  • Where can I get tested for COVID?

  • Where can I get vaccinated?

  • Am I eligible for the booster?

  • Is there a mask mandate in this area?

  • How long should I quarantine if I get sick?
